On April 11, 2002, 40-ish song request slips were purchased from Morgan Hobart, a friend with a part time lighting gig at clubs like Axis and Avalon on Boston’s Landsdowne St. Patrons would pass requests to Morgan having mistaken him for the DJ.
While a number of pop-hits are easily identified, some were named incorrectly—for example Pink’s Get the Party Started (2001) was written as I’m Coming Out. Requests like Janet Jackson’s “newest song,” are difficult to pin down—Jackson’s 2001 LP All For You had numerous singles that charted.
