OPEN Book is a book club. We select works related to curation, editing, archives, and community organization. We focus on collections of essays, interviews, and similar formats to allow for easy drop-in month to month. There is no fee to participate, but participants have to get their own copies of materials.

For our inaugural season, we’re going to spend slow time with Obrist’s 2008 interviews collection, A Brief History of Curating. Over a year, we’ll read and discuss its eleven interviews: Anne d’Harnoncourt, Werner Hofmann, Jean Leering, Franz Meyer, Seth Siegelaub, Walter Zanini, Johannes Cladders, Lucy Lippard, Walter Hopps, Pontus Hultén, and Harald Szeemann.

Thanks to our new friends at JRP|Editions in Geneva, we’ll also have a few copies of this text in our common space for all to enjoy.
