OPEN congratulates the 195 District Park Commission on their selection of The Providence Art & Design Center for development at Parcel 5. The mixed-use project includes housing, retail, and a plan for exhibitions / public programming. We congratulate Ionic Development and WADE / KEATING on their fantastic presentation; theirs was the only shortlisted proposal that included an affordable housing component, as well as opportunities for ownership.

A lively outdoor shopping mall with modern buildings featuring glass storefronts and greenery on the balconies. People are walking and browsing in the shops, with string lights hanging across the walkway and a colorful geometric mural on one building.

OPEN previously met with WADE / KEATING and has agreed, in principle, to help develop an exhibition space within the building, assist with public programming, and other fun stuff. You’ll notice us mentioned in the presentation deck. Fancy!
